So-called ‘hot dog hooker’ plans to keep on truckin’

NASSAU COUNTY, New York (WCBS) – A 45-year-old woman who pleaded guilty earlier this week to prostitution in New York said she strap on her bikini once again as she serves up sizzling hot dogs from her truck.

"I'm here ... I'm sexy and I know it everybody," Cathy Scalia yelled to reporters as she walked out of the Nassau jail Wednesday.

Scalia claimed indecent exposure is not prostitution – and that she will continue to spice up her hot dogs with sex appeal.

"I'm a mother of four kids, and yes, I show my cleavage," Scalia told reporters. "I think it's sexy.  If Pamela Anderson can do it, so can I."

In fact, the hot dog vendor said she would be back in business soon.

"I'll be back out there, with my bikini top on, selling my hot dogs," she said. "I'm right in front of Pep Boys in Baldwin and Freeport."

However, the mother of four appeared seemingly unaware, as she walked out of the jail, that she technically had just pleaded guilty to prostitution.

"She did, in the elocution say she was stripping, but then when the judge asked her for clarification, she did say that she engaged in prostitution," said Assistant Nassau District Attorney Carolyn Kelly.

Scalia was arrested last week, accused of hooking from the hot dog truck. She is facing seven days in jail for her misdemeanor, five of which she has already served.

The short sentence is contingent on her getting psychiatric evaluation, but puts no restrictions on her hot dog vending in whatever clothing she chooses.

However, Scalia said the cops should spend time on more serious crimes.

"They should find that serial killer, they're worried about a stupid stripper when they got a serial killer out there," said Scalia.
