(WTVR)–McDonald’s plans to super-size themselves, just in time for the 2012 London Olympics.

The location will certainly be Olympic-sized at a grand total of half the length of a football field.

The Huffington Post reports that the total footage is about 32,292 square feet. That equals a lot of employees and seats.

There will be 2,000 employees and seating for 1,500 customers.

The Huffington Post has a detailed article about the implications of the fast-food restaurant’s close connections to a sporting event, in addition to its large-scale promotion aimed at making children healthier.

Daily Mail said that 12,000 applied for positions and that food will be procured from 17,500 British and Irish farms.

McDonald’s has been a top sponsor at the Olympics for years. The first year burgers were airlifted into the stadium.
