Governor Bob McDonnell says he’s concerned about a proposed fee for E-Z Pass users.

During his radio show on WTOP Tuesday morning, the Governor said he’s worried about what the new fee would mean for drivers who have no other payment option.

Governor McDonnell says many Virginia drivers don’t have the option to pull another dollar out of their pockets for tolls.

As we first told you last week, VDOT is considering a $1 a month fee for all E-Z Pass users. The fee would be used to expand E-Z Pass as the state creates several new electronically tolled roads.

If approved by the Commonwealth Transportation Board, the new fee would take effect July 1st.
