PETERSBURG, Va. (WTVR) - American Experience, a show that airs on PBS, is currently filming in Petersburg, Virginia.“The Abolitionists” a three hour, three-part docu-drama is scheduled to air on PBS in January, 2013.

Filming is scheduled to end on April 20. The city of Petersburg estimated the production injected $25,000 into the city's economy. That number is based on a filming fee the city charged and money the cast and crew spent on dining and shopping.
