FREDERICKSBURG, Va. (WTVR) - If creditors agree to the reorganization plan for the U.S. National Slavery Museum, the plan could be approved by a federal bankruptcy court in June.
The decision was made during a status hearing in Richmond Wednesday afternoon.
The museum, which is the project of former Governor and Richmond Mayor Doug Wilder, was supposed to be built on a plot of land along Interstate 95 in Fredericksburg.
However, organizers were forced to declare bankruptcy last year because of nearly $7 million in debt.
