RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) –This evening around 6:30 p.m., Virginia State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 195 northbound to the Laburnum Avenue exit in the City of Richmond.

The ramp will remain closed for several hours to allow clean-up crews to offload the trailer by hand. The trailer was loaded with doors, said police.

The crash occurred when the tractor-trailer driver lost control of his vehicle as he traveled northbound, said Sgt.Thomas J. Molnar.

This caused the tractor-trailer to overturn and strike a 2007 Ford F-150. The tractor-trailer was traveling in the center lane and the Ford was traveling in the right lane when the crash occurred, police said.

Jonas Frost, 70 of Midlothian, the driver of the tractor-trailer suffered minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to VCU Medical Center.

The driver of the passenger vehicle, Robin Diamond, 54, was not injured in the crash.

Frost was charged with reckless driving, for failure to maintain proper control.

He was traveling from the Midlothian area en-route to Pennsylvania at the time of the crash.

Speed is considered a factor in the crash, said police.
