RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) — After spending much of last week in the spotlight and along the median on Monument Avenue, the “What Do You Stand For?” exhibit, organized by Art 180, has relocated.

The paintings haven’t gone too far, though. The art panels have found new homes.

Homeowners along the famous Monument offered to host the portraits once the city revoked Art 180’s permit, that originally granted the group rights to be on the avenue until May 4.

Venture Richmond offered the group use of their permit through the famous Easter on Parade.

Sunday night, volunteers began moving the installations off of the median and into their new homes.

The installation debuted at First Fridays Artwalk in October 2011 and has traveled the city since then. The portraits have been on display at the Folk Festival, Jefferson Hotel, Plant Zero, Rocketts Landing, Whole Foods, the Science Museum, the General Assembly Building and CenterStage, according to the Art 180 website.

The exhibit has been along Monument Avenue since March 26. Once the controversy broke out citywide about the legality of the city issued permits, a panel was stolen. It has not yet been reclaimed.
