City Offices Closed for Spring Holiday/Good Friday

Richmond, VA – City government offices, including City Hall, will be closed on Friday, April 6, 2012 for Spring Holiday/Good Friday. City offices will reopen at regular business hours on Monday, April 9, 2012.

This closure includes all branches of the Richmond Public Libraries and all City community centers. The Main Library, 101 East Franklin Street, will open from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Friday, April 6 for First Friday events, with all branches of the Richmond Public Libraries reopening on Saturday, April 7. All City community centers will open on Saturday for any previously scheduled events.

Refuse collection will not be performed on Friday as the City’s Solid Waste Management Division will also be closed. This closure will result in a one day delay of refuse collection for the week, as the collection schedule will resume on Saturday.

The East Richmond Road Convenience Center and Hopkins Road Transfer Stations are also closed on Friday, April 6. Each facility will resume its normal schedule on Saturday.

COLLEGES – Virginia Union University closed today.

SCHOOLS – Chesterfield and Henrico closed today. Hanover and Goochland close early today. All schools on spring break April 9-13.

LIBRARIES – Richmond closed today.

TRASH – No collections in Richmond today. Collections will be held on Saturday.

Transportation

TRAFFIC – City parking meters, time-zone signs and peak-time travel lanes will not be enforced today.

Business / Commerce

STOCK MARKET – Closed today.

ABC STORES – Closed Sunday.

MAJOR MALLS – Closed Sunday.

TIMES-DISPATCH – Will be delivered.
