DOSWELL, Va. (WTVR) – Kings Dominion will official open for the 2012 season this Friday.

The Doswell, Vriginia, theme park has two new attractions to celebrate the occasion.

A swing ride, called WindSeeker, will lift riders up a 301-foot-tall tower that will spin folks about 30 stories above ground.

Once folks are at the top, the swings will reach speeds between 25–30 mph, and flare out almost 45 degrees from the tower.

“During the day, or at night when the ride will be illuminated with spectacular LED lighting, Windseeker will provide riders with unparalleled views of the park and surrounding attraction,” said Kings Dominion VP and General Manager Pat Jones.

Additionally, Dinosaurs Alive!, a six-acre interactive exhibit that features 36 dinosaurs, will premier, too.

The animatronic models are hand-carved and are covered with skin-like materials.

The exhibit entrance will be located in a forest setting near the park’s Grizzly wooden rollercoaster.

However, that part of the park costs $5 and is not included with general park admission or season passes.

The park will also hold its annual Easter Eggstravaganza on April 6-8 — and will be  open for Spring Break from April 9-13.
