Va. Delegate David Englin won’t seek re-election because of infidelity

Englin posted a statement on his website that said "in my personal life, I let down my family and was unfaithful in my marriage."

(WTVR) – State Delegate David Englin announced Tuesday that he will not seek re-election because of what he said are “family issues.”

Englin gained national attention recently, appearing on national television to talk about some of Virginia’s most controversial bills from this latest General Assembly session.

Englin, who was one of the most vocal opponents of the ultrasound-abortion bill, blasting it on the “Rachel Maddow Show,” was jut re-elected in November to his fourth term in his northern Virginia district.

However, Englin posted a statement on his website that said “in my personal life, I let down my family and was unfaithful in my marriage.” [BONUS: Read full statement on Englin’s website]

Englin also said that he is leaving the political life to focus on his family.
