Richmond, VA (WTVR) – Governor Bob McDonnell and First Lady Maureen McDonnell will host the first “Governor’s Easter Egg Hunt” this Wednesday, April 4th in Capitol Square.

The event is free and open to the public. It kicks off on North Capitol Square Drive at 5 p.m. in front of the mansion gate. The program will run through 7:00 p.m.

Attendees are encouraged to RSVP here to reserve their tickets and print directions and event day information. Tickets are sold out at this time, but you can add your name to the wait list.

In addition to being an opportunity for children to engage in music and fun, Mrs. McDonnell is asking attendees to bring baby gifts for expectant military mothers.

“As a military wife and Blue Star Mom, I understand how difficult it is on the family when a loved one is away and know that gestures of gratitude such as these gifts can make a big difference for military families,” Mrs. McDonnell said in a statement posted on the Governor’s website.
