RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Richmond Police said Friday that a fugitive wanted in connection with a deadly shooting last week South Richmond is now in police custody.
Officials said Michael Alonzo Robinson Jr., 27, was arrested in Norfolk Thursday by the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force.
Police were called to a home in the 1500 block of Columbia Street just before 2 a.m. on Friday, March 16. The found Jerrod D. Oliver, 29, who lived at the home, shot several times. He was taken to VCU Medical Center where he later died.
Police later identified Robinson Jr. as the suspect in the shooting. He was wanted in connection with the crime on robbery and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony charges.
The charges against Robinson in Richmond have been forwarded to the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office. Officials said more charges related to Oliver’s murder will be sought in the coming weeks.
Robinson is also facing charges in the Tidewater area.
