ALBUQUERQUE, NM – One of the stars of hit CBS comedy “Two and a Half Men” is headed into space.
Actor Ashton Kutcher has reserved a $200,000 seat on a Virgin Galactic spacecraft, becoming the 500th customer to do so.
It isn’t clear when Kutcher will take flight, since the spacecrafts are still in test mode. The first flight is not scheduled until sometime next year.
When they are cleared for takeoff, they and their passengers will fly about 60 miles above the earth’s surface on their two-and-a-half hour flight.
The shuttle will take off from Spaceport America, a terminal and runway built for Virgin’s galactic venture in a remote area of New Mexico.
Kutcher is not the first celebrity to sign up for the adventure. Singer Katy Perry, actor Tom Hanks, A-list couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie and physicist Stephen Hawking are also reportedly on board for a space flight.
