CRYSTAL RIVER, FL – A Florida driver is being hailed a hero after she saved a woman who allegedly flicked her off from a burning car.

Kristyn Dominy said she was heading home with her baby Monday evening when she spotted a woman driving erratically, who sped past her along the winding road.

"She did flick me off whenever she passed me," said Dominy.

However, shortly after the incident, Dominy said she noticed black smoke coming from the woman's Jeep. Then, when she turned the corner, about 30 seconds later, the woman's car and some nearby trees had gone up in flames.

"My first thought when I came around the corner and saw that her vehicle was on fire, I was thinking karma, but the same time, I could never -- -even though she flicked me off… -- just sit there and watch that happen," said Dominy.

She said the woman was on fire and struggling to get her daughter out of the burning car.

"I don't know how I didn't get burned...  because I took the seatbelt off of her and told her to get on the ground and roll to get the fire off of her because her clothes were on fire."

Dominy said she next put the pair in her car to get them away from the fire and then called 911.

"The vehicle was up in flames and just the look on the mom and daughter's face," said Dominey. "I could never just drive by and not think about that."

The mother and her daughter were flown to a nearby hospital.

Dominy said she does not consider herself a hero, but hopes the incident will inspire others to pay it forward.
