RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) -The man authorities say killed a Henrico convenience store clerk during a 2005 robbery pleaded  guilty to murder and firearms charges late Thursday.

Stephen White plead guilty to two of the three counts against him before United States District Judge Robert Payne.  White plead guilty to conspiracy to Commit Robbery Affecting Commerce and Use and Discharge of Firearm in Commission of Crime of Violence Causing the Death of Another.

White and another man, William Langley, Jr., robbed the Uppy's Convenience Store on Brook Road on May 4, 2005. During the robbery federal officials said that White killed Robert Rush, the clerk on duty during the robbery after Rush had already given White the cash.

The case went cold until authorities received information in 2008 that led them to White, Langley and another man, Vance Hamm in 2009.  The three were indicted on robbery and conspiracy charges in a string of robberies in both Virginia and North Carolina.  Mann was not charged in the robbery that killed Rush.

At one point both White and Langley faced the death penalty for the incident but the government said that they would not seek it.

Langley and Hamm were both expected to enter guilty pleas Friday in federal court but Hamm's case late Thursday is being rescheduled
