RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Buddy’s Place, a restaurant in Richmond’s Fan District, will soon close its doors.

After 30 years in business, the closure isn’t voluntary. The building’s owner decided not to renew the restaurant's lease.

“After 18 months of negotiations, I've determined that I will not renew the building's lease," Charlie Diradour,  with Lion Paws Development, said in a statement to CBS 6.

While Diraradour has made up his mind, fans of Buddy’s are not giving up without a fight.

Facebook page titled, “Save Buddy’s,” continues to grow as people share their memorable experiences at the bar and grille.

Randy Dudley, a bartender at Buddy’s and one of its longtime employees told CBS 6, while other establishments have changed along the block, Buddy’s remained the constant. [CLICK HERE: Share your Buddy's memories on the CBS 6 Facebook page]
