CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - A fire damaged a home along the 500 block of Rebel Ridge Road in Chesterfield County, Virginia, according to CBS 6 photojournalist Jake Burns.

The fire was marked under control around 2:15 p.m. Friday afternoon.

Chesterfield Fire and EMS Lt. Jason Elmore said fire crews arrived at the home around 12:45 p.m. to find flames shooting at the back of a home. Wind helped fan the flames to the rest of the house, Elmore said.

One person and a pet inside the home were able to make it out unharmed.

The house fire sparked smaller brush fires outside the home.

The exact cause of the fire remained under investigation, said Chesterfield Fire and EMS Battalion Chief Greg McCarraher.
