HENRICO COUNTY, VA (WTVR) – A routine traffic stop led to a woman being tazed after she assaulted police, according to Henrico County police.

Police said officers pulled over 41-year-old Sonja Bundy for failure to obey a traffic sign at approximately 8:40 p.m. Saturday. After she initially stopped, police said she tried to flee police and was pulled over a second time.

According to police, Bundy then became violent and punched a police officer. A second officer tazed Bundy, and she was taken to the hospital.

After she was cleared medically, Bundy was taken into custody, and police say she’s being charged with assaulting a police officer, alluding police with a vehicle, driving without a license and failure to obey a traffic sign.
