A Community activist, was born September 13, 1961 to Viola Jones Carpenter and the late Ralph Theodore Carpenter in Culpeper, Virginia. Ms. Wood graduated in 1979 from Culpeper County High School and graduated in 1983 from Saint Paul’s College in Lawrenceville, Virginia. She is married to Thelonius L. Wood of Richmond, Virginia.

Currently is employed with the Department of Motors Financial Management Services Division; member, First Baptist Church of South Richmond; member, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

Current community involvement includes Vice Chairman, Community Advisory Council, CBS 6; Co-Chairman, CBS 6 Internship Committee; Vice President, Virginia State Conference NAACP; Convention Planning Chairman, Virginia State Conference NAACP; 1st Vice President, Richmond VA Branch NAACP Financial Secretary, Richmond Chapter, Continental Societies, Inc.; Research Committee, 5th District, Richmond Crusade for Voters.
