Richmond school leaders spent their Saturday working to close the budget gap.
A Richmond Public Schools spokesperson said the fire started inside a boy’s restroom.
“It’s very hard to give people hope for advancement and a better future when that’s continually happening,” one school board member said.
CBS 6 News has learned several Richmond elementary school teachers are trying out the program.
Richmond police are looking for a driver who hit a boy trying to board a school bus in the city’s East End.
The accident happened at Midlothian Tunrpike and East Clopton Street just before 9 a.m.
