Increasing faith in the economy means Virginia’s roadways will be more crowded this Memorial Day weekend, according to a report from AAA Mid-Atlantic.
The average price for a gallon of gas is now $3.49.
Gas prices are around 20 cents lower than one year ago and around 30 cents lower than last month.
The survey is taken every two weeks at gas stations nationwide
The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded Richmond now stands at $3.89 a gallon.

In fact, AAA Mid-Atlantic said gas prices are just 10 cents from the record high of $4.01 on July 17, 2008.
