The beard that has stalled the court-martial of accused Fort Hood shooter Maj. Nidal Hasan will be discussed at a hearing next week, military officials said.
A soldier was charged with manslaughter after his gunplay went awry while trying to scare another soldier out of the hiccups and ended in death.
Hasan is accused of opening fire at the post’s processing center, where soldiers were preparing to deploy to Afghanistan and Iraq, in November 2009.
Hasan, who is a Muslim, has refused to shave for more than a month, apparently in keeping with Quranic teachings.
