This week CBS 6 investigative reporter Catie Beck was tipped off Department of Social Services Doris Moseley was still on the job.
“If you say somebody is retired that means they’re retired, if there is a lag period that needs to be made clear,” said Council President Charles Samuels.
The Mayor responded to a scathing new audit that confirmed the allegations CBS 6 first reported last year.
CBS 6 reports were confirmed, and the auditor’s report will suggest that number of missing case files is actually 10 times larger.
City leaders confirmed that an investigation of Richmond’s Department of Social Services (DSS) is underway.
The deputy director of DSS was placed on leave. She will return Monday as a policy analyst.
Earlier this week Dr. Carolyn Graham and Richmond officials “reached a mutual agreement” that resulted in Graham leaving her job.
Now, a new focus on the DSS as CBS 6 uncovers that an employee has been able to earn a paycheck for nearly a year and a half without working.
