In the City of Richmond, the deadline to be a candidate for office is June 12th, early enough to give election officials and the candidate time to prepare for November.

Potential Mayoral Candidate says he has verification to get his name on ballot
Right now he is running unopposed, but a potential candidate has completed the requirements to get 23 petition signatures verified by the city registrar. Earlier the city registrar said those signatures were not valid and disqualified him from having his name on the ballot.
