    8th ranked Richmond had their five-game winning streak snapped at Maine 33-20. William & Mary beat Elon 17-7. Virginia State won the CIAA Northern Division title with a 33-12 win over Virginia Union. UVA dropped their fourth straight, 34-20 to Florida St. In the High School ranks, Benedictine advanced to the VISAA Division I state final with a 34-15 win over St. Christopher’s. 7th ranked Henrico defeated Armstrong 53-28.

  • Spiders get signature win over #3 Villanova

    Richmond upset third ranked Villanova 10-9. JMU rallied from 11 down to beat William & Mary 31-24. Virginia Tech lost at home to Boston College 33-31. UVA fell to Georgia Tech 35-10. VSU remain unbeaten in the CIAA, 40-7 over Chowan. Benedictine clinched the number one seed in the VISAA Division I playoffs with a 35-19 win over Liberty Christian. St. Christopher’s claimed the final playoff spot in the VISAA Division I playoffs by beating Collegiate 17-6.

  • Spiders win first CAA game in Albany

    Richmond picked up their first conference win at Albany 41-28. William & Mary had their four game winning streak snapped at New Hampshire 32-3. JMU rolled past Towson 62-7. VSU remained unbeaten in the CIAA with a 41-14 win over ECSU. VUU is 5-1 after a 78-13 win at homecoming over Lincoln.

  • What a wild college football Saturday

    Virginia Tech took down UNC 34-17. UVA is 2-0 in the ACC with a 24-19 win over Pittsburgh. Richmond needed double overtime to beat Liberty 46-39. VSU is 2-0 in the CIAA by holding off St. Augustine 42-35. VUU beat Shaw 31-9.  

  • Hokies end losing streak, UVA wins again

    Virginia Tech snaps a two-game home losing streak by beating Western Michigan 35-17. UVA surpassed their win total from all of last year; 45-13 over Kent State. JMU is now 0-2 in the CIAA after a 30-23 overtime loss to Delaware. VSU beat Fayetteville State 35-14. VUU won at Johnson C. Smith 27-26. Number 2 Hermitage remained unbeaten; 42-0 over TJ. Collegiate fell to Episcopal 31-7.

  • DeAngelo Hall out for the season in Washington

    Former Virginia Tech star DeAngelo Hall will miss the rest of the 2014 with a torn achilles. Former UVA standout Chase Minnifield was promoted from the practice squad to fill his spot. Hokies defensive tackle Luther Maddy will miss two to four weeks with a torn ligament in his knee. New teams are in this week’s CBS-6 Sports Radio 910 High School Football poll. The Wayne Samford Memorial Golf tournament was held at the Dominion Club.
