    The fourth inning has been the magic inning during this regional for the Rams. On Friday they scored five runs en route to a victory, today they plated three runs against the Beavers. 

  • VCU upsets top seed Dallas Baptist, UVA downs USC

    VCU won their 12th straight with a 7-2 win over the top seed Dallas Baptist in the Dallas Regional Friday Night.  It’s their first NCAA tournament win since 2003.  The Rams used a five-run 4th inning to pull away for the upset.   • VCU back in the NCAA’s, heads to Dallas Regional

    VCU returns to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2010.  The Rams will face the top seed Dallas Baptist in the Dallas Regional Friday night. UVA are back in the NCAA’s for the 12th straight time.  The Cavaliers will play USC in the Lake Elsinore Regional in California Friday night.   • VCU wins 1st A-10 Baseball Title, Radford takes the Big South Crown

    The VCU Rams won the school’s first A-10 Baseball Championship with a 5-3 win over Rhode Island.  Former Varina standout Darien Carpenter was named Tournament MVP after driving in 10 runs over the weekend. 24th ranked Radford clinched their first ever Big South Conference title after a 5-4 win over Coastal Carolina.   • UVA starts ACC Tournament with a different mentality

    UVA will play in the ACC Tournament Tuesday morning against last year’s champs Georgia Tech. VCU starts the A-10 Tournament Wednesday afternoon against Davidson as arguably the hottest team in the conference. Richmond’s road to a A-10 conference title begins Wednesday morning against George Washington. Flying Squirrels lost at Erie 10-6. Australian Minjee Lee won her first LPGA tour event at the Kingsmill Championship by two shots.

  • Darkness suspends Final Round at Kingsmill

    The LPGA Kingsmill Championship will be decided on Monday after darkness suspended the final round in Williamsburg.  Australian Minjee Lee leads by four shots with three holes to play. Former Virginia Tech and current Redskins safety Kyshoen Jarrett tries to make a smooth transition to the NFL at Rookie Camp.

  • Kurt Busch wins Toyota Owners 400 at RIR

    Kurt Busch snapped a 35 race winless drought at Richmond International Raceway by winning the Toyota Owners 400. The Flying Squirrels losing streak is at nine after an 8-6 loss to New Britain. Randolph-Macon won the school’s first ODAC Softball tournament title after a 7-1 win over Lynchburg.

  • Rain forces NASCAR to postpone race at RIR to Sunday

    Mother Nature wreaked havoc on NASCAR for the second straight week as rain postponed the Toyota Owners 400 at RIR to Sunday afternoon at 1pm.  Lane Casadonte found out what went into their decision. Chesterfield’s Denny Hamlin hopes his special win on Friday will help him Sunday. Virginia Tech wrapped up a solid spring with their Spring Game at Lane Stadium.
