    In Wednesday Night’s Sportscast, Vernon Davis and Josh Norman are excited about being a part of the Redskins team. The Flying Squirrels rout Binghamton 11-2 for their 2nd straight win. VCU beat George Washington 5-1 in the 1st round of the A-10 Baseball tournament. Glen Allen Baseball and Softball teams advance to the Conference 11 finals.

    Ariya Jutanugarn wins the Kingsmill Championship

    Thailand’s Ariya Jutanugarn won her first Kingsmill Championship by one stroke over Australian Su Oh.  Jutanugarn finished her final round -4 under 67 with a par putt on 18 to hold off Oh and complete her fourth straight round in the 60’s to finish at 14 under par.  It was her second straight win on the tour.

    Flying Squirrels ends streak, Michael Robinson hosts football camp

    In Saturday night’s Feel Good Sportscast, the Flying Squirrels ended a 14 game losing streak 9-0 over Erie.   Team President “Parney” said that he wouldn’t shower or change out of the team’s uniform until the streak was snapped. JMU and Longwood advanced to the Harrisonburg Regional Final in Women’s Softball.     Taja Cole heading to UGA

    Former L.C. Bird standout Taja Cole announced at the Ben Wallace Gym that she will play College Basketball at Georgia in 2017.  She will sit out this coming season because of her transferring from Louisville. She picked the Lady Bulldogs over Ole Miss and Minnesota.

    VCU wins Duel at the Diamond

    In the Tuesday night Sportscast, the VCU Rams beat UVA 7-5 for their first win over the Cavaliers since 2003.  Darian Carpenter and Logan Farrar each had three hits.  Carpenter hit a three run homer as the Rams scored six runs between the fifth and sixth innings. The Richmond Flying Squirrels new manager Miguel Ojeda has a experienced roster in his first season which should ease the transition.
