  • Squirrels add distance to West lead

    The Flying Squirrels beat Harrisburg 7-3 to lead by 2.5 games in the West. Powhatan’s Jay Woodson becomes the first golfer in 30 years to win three straight State Open’s of Virginia. Rory Mcilory has a six shot lead going into the final round at the British Open.

    The Flying Squirrels lost to Akron 9-2.  Their lead is one game in the Eastern League’s Western Division. C.J. Barksdale became the fifth Hokie to leave the basketball program since March. Ryan Turnage named Head Football Coach at Lee-Davis. Former Highland Springs and NFL star Emmanuel McNeil returned home for a great cause.

    The Flying Squirrels lost their third straight to Bowie 3-0. The Richmond Kickers picked up a point after a 1-1 tie at Wilmington. Richmond Raiders missed the playoffs after losing in Lehigh Valley 41-31.

  • UVA Reaches CWS Final for 1st time

    UVA beat Mississippi 4-1 to reach the College World Series final for the very first time. Flying Squirrels beat Erie 7-6. Raiders lost at home to Nashville 63-28. The Champion’s Cup Girls Lacrosse Tournament returned to Chesterfield County. The Second Annual Speedgolf Eastern Open was played at the Foundry Golf Course in Powhatan.
