HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- Henrico Police took two teenagers into custody following a reported shooting inside a home in western Henrico. Police descended upon the neighborhood, between Hungary Road and Woodman Road, before 5 a.m. after shots were fired following a dispute.

"Officers responded to the area 1800 block of Convair Lane [at about 4:45 a.m. Monday] regarding a dispute. Officers discovered shots had been fired, but there were no injuries," a Henrico Police spokesperson said.

More than six hours after the initial call, police remained on scene in the neighborhood in an attempt to get the people inside the home -- safely outside the home.

Based on fact that there was a reported shooting, police took extra precautions to secure the area and make sure community was safe, Henrico Police Lt. Lauren Hummel said. Some neighbors were told to evacuate their homes as streets were shutdown in the neighborhood.

Witnesses said they heard two gunshots followed by a large police presence.

"You're scared and you're wondering what's going on," said Natalie Wade. "I asked an officer if I could grab my backpack by my car that's on the street near that house and they said that my life wasn't worth getting my backpack so they just told me to leave."

Just after 12 p.m. Monday, police removed two teenagers from the home. The teenagers were taken out of the home in handcuffs and transported to the hospital to make sure they were OK. No charges have been filed and no arrests have been made.

Specific crimes that may have been committed are still being identified and investigated, Hummel said.

This is a developing story. Witnesses can send photos and news tips here.
