GOOCHLAND COUNTY, Va. — The Goochland County Sheriff’s Office confirmed a death investigation was underway after a body was discovered in the woods.
Officials said they first received a call about the body at about 8:18 p.m. Thursday.
Deputies found the body in a wooded area along the 2200 block of Manakin Road, between Broad Street and Interstate 64, in the eastern part of Goochland.
The Goochland County Sheriff’s office did not release any information about the identify of the body, how the person might have died.
Goochland’s Sheriff is expected to release more information later Friday.
