Woman hospitalized after being shot multiple times in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. — A woman has been transported to the hospital after being shot multiple times in Richmond Wednesday night.

Police said around 9:30 p.m. they received a call for a shooting near the intersection of Hunt Avenue and Richmond Henrico Turnpike.

Upon arrival, officers found a woman suffering life-threatening injuries. She was taken to the hospital where her injuries have been downgraded to non-life-threatening.

Police said that they do not have suspect information or a motive at this time.

Investigators said they are investigating a separate shooting from earlier in the afternoon.

Police said around 6:45 p.m. a man showed up to the hospital with gunshots wounds. Detectives traced the shooting to the 2400 block of Venable Street.

The victim was transported by private vehicle by a friend.
