Police search for gunmen after attempted robbery in Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD, Va., — Police are searching for two armed suspects after they attempted to rob a Chesterfield convenience store.

The attempted armed robbery happened at the Fast & Friendly at 6249 Jefferson Davis Highway just before 9 p.m. Tuesday, according to police.

Officials said one suspect jumped over the counter and tried to open the cash register. Both men ran off without hurting anyone or taking anything.

The first suspect was armed with a handgun and described as about 6 feet tall and 170 pounds. He was wearing a dark hooded jacket, black pants, black shoes, dark mask, and a black backpack, according to police.

The second suspect was armed with a shotgun and described as about 6 feet tall and 200 pounds. He was wearing a dark hooded jacket, blue jeans, dark mask, white shoes, and was carrying a black bag.
