RICHMOND, Va. -- There is one day left to help local kids in need fill out their Christmas Wish List. The Children's Home Society is taking donations through Wednesday that will be given to young people in their Possibilities Project program.

The Possibilities Project helps Virginia young people who age out of the foster care system without a permanent family to call their own.

"These are young people who are especially vulnerable at this time of year.  They don't have connections with their biological family, they've aged out of the foster care system; but through the possibilities project, we're providing support, mentoring, all the things a family would provide, so this meas a lot," said Nadine Marsh-Carter, CEO of Children's Home Society.

You can find out what's left on the wish lists on the group's website.

Marsh-Carter said food and gas gift cards are especially helpful and useful year round. Anyone interested in sponsoring a young person in the program can find more information on CHSVA's website.
