ALBEMARLE COUNTy, Va. — Police charged a home daycare provider with felony Cruelty and Injuries to Children after an investigation at her Albemarle County home.
Police and Child Protective Services went to Kathy Yowell-Rohm’s Turnberry Circle home, in the Forest Lakes community, to investigate a child neglect complaint.
“Detectives and CPS workers discovered 16 infants and toddlers inside the residence, several of which were either unattended or showed signs of neglect,” an Albemarle County Police spokesperson said. “Police and CPS were able to quickly return the children safely to their parents.”
Yowell-Rohm, 53, was arrested and booked at Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail without bond.
“The investigation is ongoing and additional criminal charges are pending,” the police spokesperson said.
