RICHMOND, VA. —

CarMax Tacky Light Run,  Saturday, December 9th.

The event combines one of Richmond’s favorite traditions – tacky holiday lights – with a celebration of an active lifestyle and family-friendly holiday party.  Starting and finishing at Mid-lothian Mines Park, the park will be transformed into the North Pole for the event. The course will take participants through the Walton Park neighborhood, one of the area’s most festive collections of holiday lights and elaborate decorations. The course includes neighborhood cheer zones, music, and holiday cookie stops for all participants.

The CarMax Tacky Light Run offers youth pricing for kids under the age of 18. Event registration includes race entry, a post-event holiday party, participant stocking cap, and a special ornament finisher medal. There will be plenty of photo opportunities along the course, and Santa will be available for pictures in the North Pole at Mid-lothian Mines Park before the start of the run. Participants are encouraged to wear their own holiday costumes and tacky lights. Glow kits are also available for purchase during the registration process for an additional $5.

Kids Run RVA will serve as the official event charity for the CarMax Tacky Light Run. Kids Run RVA is an initiative of Sports Backers that reaches thousands of young people across the Richmond region and has run clubs in nearly 70 schools and neighborhoods, including many underserved communities. cxFor more information on the CarMax Tacky Light Run, please visit www.sportsbackers.org.
