RICHMOND, Va. -- An area of low pressure will develop to our south on Friday and will move up the coast, bringing a glancing shot of moisture to the area.

The temperature profile aloft will be supportive of snow, but surface temps a little above freezing will preclude any travel issues.

A few flurries will be possible on Saturday as upper-level energy swings through cyclonic curvature in the base of a broad trough over the eastern U.S.

Cold weather will continue Sunday into Monday, with highs remaining in the 40s.

Another upper-level disturbance could bring a round of light snow to the area next Tuesday.
