CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. – A Chesterfield County woman, who police say led them on a pursuit before crashing into a tree, died Sunday on the fourth anniversary of daughter’s death.

Crime Insider sources tell Jon Burkett that Linda S. Hurt, 66, died four years to the day after her 36-year-old daughter Katherine died.

Police said that someone reported that Hurt, of the 13700 block of Willowynde Court, was driving erratically near her home. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect vehicle and initiated a traffic stop.

According to police, Hurt failed to stop and lead the police on a short vehicle pursuit before her vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. She was transported to an area hospital, where she died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.

The fatal single-vehicle crash occurred around 1:05 a.m in the 14300 block of Ramblewood Road.

Police continue their investigation into this crash.

Crime Insider sources say the 66-year-old had retired from the Defense Logistics Agency after more than 30 years of civil service.
