RICHMOND, Va. -- Family members held an event Saturday to remember a young girl who was shot to death in Richmond nearly two years ago.

Amiya Moses, who would have turned 14 on Dec. 3, was visiting friends when she fatally wounded during a shoot out at an apartment complex along Old Brook Road on Dec. 19, 2015.

The 12-year-old Henderson Middle School student was standing outside when a car drove up and shots were fired during what investigators called an ongoing neighborhood dispute.

Since her daughter's death, Kele Wright created the Amiya Moses Scholarship Fund.

During the block party held in her daughter's honor, Wright said she hopes her daughter is never forgotten.

"It's a little small mini cook out," Wright said. "[It's] just something to get people to remember her and remember her name and remember that we still love her we still care about her we still miss her."

Four men were convicted in Amiya's murder.

Davarn “DJ” Hancock, who was convicted of first-degree murder, was sentenced to nearly 30 years in prison.

Demichael Billie was sentenced to 20 years in prison on a second-degree murder charge.

Shaquille Maxwell was sentenced to 14 years in prison on second-degree murder, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and transporting or possessing a firearm charges.

Additionally, Dwight Jackson was sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in the crime.
