PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. – A former probationary officer has been arrested and charged after police said she distributed narcotics to inmates at Riverside Regional Jail.

Investigators with the Office of Professional Review received information earlier this month that an employee was bringing drugs into the facility, officials said.

After watching surveillance videos, investigators linked probationary officer Allison Meadows to the allegation.

Meadows was questioned by Office of Professional Review Investigators on November 21, 2017.

During the questioning, Meadows pulled a grayish power-like substance that was wrapped in plastic from her pants pocket.

After responding to the jail, Prince George County Police identified the substance as approximately three grams of heroin.

Official identification of the substance is pending analysis from the crime lab in Richmond.

Meadows was terminated as a probationary officer and arrested.

She has been charged with delivery of narcotics to prisoner, narcotics possession with intent to sell or distribute.

“No further information can be disclosed at this time due to an ongoing criminal investigation by the Prince George County Police Department.

Crime Insider sources tell CBS 6 that Meadows was locked up in the same jail she worked recently. The statewide website for accused criminals says she has been bonded out.

Meadows was originally hired on April 10, 2017.
