RICHMOND, Va. – Richmond police are investigating a double shooting that wounded a child and an adult male on Richmond's Northside Saturday night.
The crime happened at 5th Avenue and Burns Street just before 10:30 p.m.
Officers said that is where they discovered the child and an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds.
"The female victim was located on a porch of a residence on 5th Avenue and the male victim was located around the corner on Pollock Street," a Richmond Police spokespersons said. "The victims are not related and, at this time, detectives have not linked this incident to any other shootings in the city."
T nine-year-old girl is expected to survive the shooting, police said. The male victim suffered life-threatening injuries.
Police have not released any suspect information.
