Man dies after being shot in the chest on Richmond’s Southside

RICHMOND, Va. -- Police have confirmed that a man who was found with a gunshot wound to the chest Saturday night in the city's Southside has died.

Police were called to the 2100 block of Brookhaven Road for a report of a person shot just before 8:30 p.m.

Upon arrival they found 36-year-old Carlos Terry in a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries Sunday morning.

The medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of his death.

Police said they are still early in their investigation and do not yet have a suspect description.
