CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- Police have arrested and charged a member of the Ettrick-Matoaca Volunteer Rescue Squad in a rape that occurred at the squad's facility Saturday evening.

Timothy Wayne Wilson Sr.

Police received a report that a female victim had been raped by a known male suspect at the facility on River Road around 9:30 p.m. The victim and suspect both knew each other and were volunteers with the rescue squad.

Police arrested 37-year-old Timothy Wayne Wilson Sr. at the facility without incident and charged him with rape.

Wilson appeared via video conference in Chesterfield County’s Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court Monday morning. Wilson told Judge Gregory Carr he was the sole supporter for his three small children.

Judge Carr granted Wilson a court-appointed attorney but advised him he was not able to do a bond hearing at that time.

The judge told Carr his newly appointed court attorney could request a bond hearing in the near future.

Word of the alleged rape inside the Ettrick Matoaca Volunteer Rescue Squad building shocked many in the rural community, including Judy Keller, who sees Wilson often in her job. “I don’t believe he would jeopardize the communities name, his parent’s name, the rescue squad, any of it.  His own name, I don’t believe he would jeopardize it, I really don’t.’

“I don’t believe he would jeopardize the communities name, his parent’s name, the rescue squad, any of it," Keller said.  "His own name, I don’t believe he would jeopardize it, I really don’t."

Wilson is due back in court on May 30.

Anyone with further information on the incident should either contact the Chesterfield County Police Department at 804-748-1251 or Crime Solvers at 804-748-0660.
