HENRICO COUNTY, Va. – A family dog was rescued from a Henric home after it went up in flames Wednesday afternoon.

Henrico Fire crews responded to the fire at a home in the 8000 block of River Road, near the Chippenham Parkway and N. Parham Road intersection.

Firefighters administer CPR to Webster the dog.

When fire crews arrived on the scene, they entered the home and rescued a dog named Webster. The dog was given CPR and taken to a local animal hospital. The pet is expected to be OK.

Fire officials said the homeowners were not home when the fire broke out.

The two people displaced by the fire will be staying with relatives, officials said.

Crews were able to put out the fire and mark it under control in about an hour. Investigators say most of damaged was contained to inside.

Fire officials deemed the blaze accidental and said it was as a result of a electrical or mechanical issue with the gas line in the kitchen.
