The Trinity Episcopal boys and Highland Springs girls took home their respective titles after winning the Times-Dispatch Invitational Tournament on Monday night at the Coliseum.

Trinity knocked off Varina 79-51 behind 29 points from Zach Jacobs and another 20 from Armando Bacot who was named tournament MVP. Varina was led by Kenneth Southerland's 19 points

The Lady Springers won their third straight TDIT title, knocking off Trinity 79-59. Jennifer Coleman had 20 and CeCe Crudup added 19 as Highland Springs tied Cosby by winning three in a row.

"They wanted to tie someone else and be talked about [for winning] three in a row" said Springers head coach Franklin Harris, who's team improves to 6-0. "That's them. I just wanted to win and get better."

Also on Monday, Richmond freshman forward Grant Golden was released from St. Mary's hospital after spending the weekend for observation after collapsing during Saturday's loss to Texas Tech. Golden, who never lost consciousness, was taken from the floor on a stretcher and was scheduled to meet with a cardiologist Monday evening.

Golden will not travel with the Spiders when they head to Harrisonburg to take on JMU Tuesday night.
