Sports anchor Sean Robertson recently surprised a husband and wife while they were out to eat at Mama J's restaurant in Jackson Ward.

"Purnell and Lisa Spears have volunteered their time and their energy for 20 years at activities at George Wythe High School," Sean said.

Sean presented the couple with a token for their dedicated service over the years.

"If we can do just a little something for somebody's child, then it means the world to us. And that's what's important," Lisa said. "And we're teaching our sons to give back and do the same thing."

Purnell said he and his wife give back because they love kids and want to make sure they have every advantage.

The CBS 6 Month of Giving is possible due to a partnership with Union Bank and Trust.
