HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- Recently, workers at Count's Hallmark Store at the Gayton Crossing Center in western Henrico County found a gold wedding band on the carpeted floor by the Christmas Anniversary section of that greeting cards.
They deduced that it was a man who lost it, a man married for some 40 years. Married, in fact, on the same month and day that the ring was found, based on the detailed engraving on the mysterious golden band.
Days have passed and no one has returned for the ring.
And so CBS 6's Sherlock Holmberg was dispatched to the scene of the find to see if he could gather the threads to this precious metal mystery.
Less than a day after Holmberg's story aired, the owner came to the store and claimed his ring. The man did not provide his name, but did say he and his wife have been married for more than 40 years.
We’re still waiting to find out exactly how he lost the ring at the Hallmark Store. :-)
