19-year-old arrested in Henrico store owner’s murder

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- Authorities have arrested at 19-year-old man in connect with a murder at a convenience store in Henrico County in November.

Officers were called to the Tobacco Town convenience store in the 1100 block of Wilkinson Road for a shooting at 10:10 p.m. on Nov. 12.

Patel was survived by a wife and two young twin sons, according to his family.

Nearby business owners previously told WTVR CBS 6 the convenience store had been robbed at gunpoint by masked men about a month before the fatal shooting.

Police said the majority of the businesses in the area were already closed when the shooting happened.

Jonathan David Edwards was charged with one count of second-degree murder. He is being held without bond at the Henrico County Jail.

Authorities offered a $20,000 reward for information that led to the arrest of a Patel's killer.
