RICHMOND, Va. — Richmond Animal Care & Control is offering straw to pet owners as temperatures dip.

“While we prefer for all pets to be kept indoors, we are offering straw for outdoor dog and cat houses to ensure extra warmth this winter,” a RACC spokesperson said. “Straw can be picked up free of charge or can be delivered upon request for those without transportation.”

Richmond Animal Care & Control is located at 1600 Chamberlayne Avenue.

A strong cold front will pass through the area early Thursday morning, and this will usher in the coldest air since last February.
