DANVILLE, Va. — A Mega Millions ticket worth $5 million was sold at Murphy’s USA, located at 474 Mount Cross Road in Danville, according to the Virginia Lottery. The ticket matched the first five numbers and missed only the Mega Ball number, a lottery spokesperson.

“Normally that would win Mega Millions’ second prize of $1 million. However, whoever bought this ticket spent an extra dollar for the Megaplier when he or she bought the ticket,” the spokesperson continued. “The Megaplier number in last night’s drawing was 5x, which means this ticket is now worth five times more than it would have been without the Megaplier.”

The winning numbers for the December 13 drawing were 2-15-26-34-41 and the Mega Ball number was 14.

No ticket matched all six numbers in Tuesday’s drawing to win the estimated $51 million jackpot. That means the jackpot increases to an estimated $59 million for Friday’s drawing.
