Teen girl killed in Richmond shooting

RICHMOND, Va. -- Police identified the victim in a fatal Sunday afternoon shooting as 18-year-old Jahmeique L. Phillips, of Q Street.

Police were called to the 1800 block of Q Street at about 2:09 p.m. Sunday for a reported shooting.

"Upon arrival, officers found two females in a side yard of a residence who were suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Both females were transported to a local hospital where Phillips died," a Richmond Police spokesperson said. "The other victim has an injury that is not considered life threatening."

Police have not yet commented on the circumstances surrounding the shooting, nor released information about a possible suspect.
