GOOCHLAND COUNTY, Va. — A Louisa man was sentenced Friday after entering an Alford plea for voluntary manslaughter in the death of a Goochland County man in March 2015.
Kevin L. Parrish was sentenced to 10 years in prison in connection with the death of Alvin Lynn Brooking, 62, whose body was found on the kitchen floor of his home.

Investigators said Brooking suffered blunt-force injuries.
Parrish was initially charged with first degree murder in the case.
In concurrence with his sentencing, after Parrish serves his prison sentence, he will have probation for the rest of his life.
