HENRICO COUNTY, Va. – If your family is still in need of a Christmas tree this holiday season, a West End church may be able to help you out.

For the third year in a row, the Community West Church is holding a Christmas tree giveaway party called “The Generosity Project.”

Organizers are giving away 200 Christmas trees for free on a first come, first serve basis, on Saturday, December 9.

The tree giveaway is for anyone and everyone, no strings attached, starting at 9:00 a.m. Saturday.

Last year, the project provided 200 Christmas trees, wreaths and poinsettias to Richmond-area families.

They aim to repeat their efforts this year with a ticket and parking system on a first come, first served basis for the first 200 cars.

In addition, there will be more than free Christmas trees at the event. Adding to the festive atmosphere will be live music, snacks, coffee and children’s activities.

Once a family receives a ticket, they will be able to enjoy the party while you wait to get your tree. If you are unable to get a ticket, you are still invited to stay and enjoy the celebration.

Organizers recommends families arrive at the church at 8:30 a.m. Saturday to get a ticket for a tree. The tree giveaway will begin at 9 a.m.

The giveaway takes place at the Community West Church located at 2340 Pump Road in Henrico County.
